Hotel description
With eight acres of estate gardens, Madrona Manor offers a relaxing and private atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of town. their Master Gardener Geno Ceccato has lovingly tended the gardens for the past 23 years. His expertise and deep knowledge of the region, its climate and plant material shows in season after season of blossoms, fruits and vegetables. Whether it be forsythia and cherry trees, tulips, camellias, roses, lilies, annuals or perennials, there is nearly always something in bloom at the Manor.
Beyond the attractive nature of the wooded areas, lawns and flower gardens, an extensive organic kitchen garden generates produce for the restaurant during most of the year, with ingoing production of a wide variety of herbs. Lettuces, leeks, raspberries, heirloom tomatoes, squash blossoms and fava beans, as well as lemons, oranges, peaches and nectarines. While strolling the kitchen gardens, many a guest succumbs to temptation, plucking a ripe strawberry or cherry tomato for a taste of something ripe from the vine. As demonstrated by horticultural pioneer Luther Burbank over 100 years ago, Sonoma County's soils and climate are perfect for growing all manner of nature's bounty.
Madrona Manor is an exceptionally lovely Victorian estate surrounded by eight acres of wooded and landscaped grounds. The Mansion, built in 1881, has been a destination for discerning guests seeking a stay in the gracious wine country of northern California since 1981.
